HomeKit is Apple's connected home technology used to seamlessly integrate and control HomeKit devices in your home from your mobile device. Within our 2nd Generation Lyric Thermostat, Honeywell has implemented the HomeKit Chip and updated the software so that this is a certified HomeKit Product. For more information on HomeKit, please visit Apple's website http://www.apple.com/ios/homekit
You can tell whether or not your Lyric is a second Generation Lyric Thermostat and HomeKit is enabled by looking for the "Works with Apple HomeKit" logo on the packaging.

You can also tell by the model number located on the back of your Lyric thermostat. These Lyric models are HomeKit enabled: TH8732WFH5002, TH8732WFH5010, RCH9310WF5003, RCH9310WF5011. To use your second generation Lyric thermostat with HomeKit functionality such as Siri™ you will need a C wire powering your thermostat. Read more about C wires and thermostat wiring here.

Getting started with Lyric is simple.

Once you have your Lyric products, your smarter home is just a few simple steps away.

1. GET THE APP
Search 'Lyric Thermostat' in the Apple App Store or the Google Play store to download or update the free app to your smartphone or tablet. Setup is a cinch with the guided walk through.

2. APPLE DEVICE AND iCLOUD SETTINGS
In your Apple mobile device settings, open your iCloud settings and ensure you are logged into iCloud, your iCloud Drive is on, and your iCloud Keychain is on. Then open your Lyric app settings and turn on Home Data.

3. CONNECT YOUR DEVICES
Lyric products are wireless – they use your home’s Wi-Fi network. It's easy to connect everything using the app.

4. YOUR HOME, YOUR WAY
Customizing Lyric is as simple as a tap and a swipe. Adjust preferences, decide who gets alerts, and fine-tune your home comforts to the way you live.

5. RELAX
Everything is taken care of. Lyric gives you more control of your home – whether you're staying in, heading out, or a thousand miles away.

If your home Wi-Fi network is visible in the Lyric app and you have provided the correct Wi-Fi network information, but your thermostat has not connected to your in-home Wi-Fi, you may need to troubleshoot your Wi-Fi network.

First, confirm that your router is using a supported security standard. Lyric works with the following security standards:

  • OPEN
  • WEP_PSK
  • WPA_TKIP_PSK
  • WPA2_AES_PSK
  • WPA2_MIXED_PSK

Second, confirm that your Wi-Fi network is compatible. All Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostats, including the Lyric thermostat, are compatible with the 2.4 GHz B, G and Mixed Wi-Fi networks.

Third, some routers are incompatible with the Lyric thermostat's low-power features. To see a list of compatible routers, visit here. Note that this is not an all-inclusive list of compatible routers.

In the box you will find the Lyric thermostat, wall plate, optional trim ring, two screws for mounting, wall anchors and a Quick Start Guide.
The Lyric thermostat is designed to work on most low voltage heating and cooling systems, at 24 Volts. Gas and oil furnaces, heat pumps, and hot water systems are examples of these low voltage systems. The thermostat can also support multi stage systems with more than one stage of heating and cooling. The Lyric thermostat does not work for 110V or higher line voltage systems, such as electric baseboard heaters. Thick black, red or white wires connected with wire nuts running to your existing thermostat will typically mean you have a high voltage system. Honeywell Prestige Thermostat FAQ
No. Each thermostat can only be controlled by one Portable Comfort Center. However, you can connect up to 16 different thermostats to one Portable Comfort Center to easily control multiple zones.
Yes. When connected with an Outdoor Sensor, select thermostats and devices will display the outdoor temperature and humidity on the screen.
The thermostat has a feature called Adaptive Intelligent Recovery (AIR) or Smart Response or Early Start. This allows the thermostat to "learn" how long the heating and cooling system will take to reach the programmed temperature settings, so the temperature is reached at the time you set.
There are several items you can check. First check that the thermostat is set to the Cool position. Make sure the temperature is set lower than the Inside temperature reading. Also check the circuit breaker and reset if necessary. Make sure that the furnace door is closed securely. If “wait” is in the screen or “cool on” is flashing – wait 5 minutes for the system to safely respond. The thermostat will indicate it is asking for the cooling to turn on when "cool on" or a "snowflake" in the display. If this message is in the display, the thermostat is asking for the heat to be on and there is a likely a problem outside of the thermostat preventing the cooling from running.
There are several items you can check. First check that the thermostat is set to the Heat position. Make sure the temperature is set higher than the Inside temperature reading. Also check the circuit breaker and reset if necessary. Make sure that the furnace door is closed securely. If “wait” is in the screen or “heat on” is flashing – wait 5 minutes for the system to safely respond. The thermostat will indicate it is asking for the heat to turn on when "heat on" or a "flame" in the display. If this message is in the display, the thermostat is asking for the heat to be on and there is a likely a problem outside of the thermostat preventing the heat from running.
