McCarthy's HVAC Omaha

Serving Greater Omaha and Western Iowa Since 1970

McCarthy's Heating & Air Conditioning was started back in 1970 when John McCarthy Sr. was asked to put a used part on a system, and charge the customer as if the part was new. That was not the type of business Sr. wanted to work for, so he quit on the spot! When he got home, it didn't take him long to realized what he had just done - quit the only job that supported his wife and newborn son. His mother-in-law looked at him and said, "You're a smart man John, start your own business!" McCarthy's Heating & Air Conditioning opened shortly after that with just one man and one truck. In 1973, his wife, Mary Kay, also started working for the business full time, and it has been a family business ever since. Both Sr. and Mary Kay are both still involved in the day-to-day operations 45 years later.

Over the years, the company has grown, and on March 12, 2003, the first One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning franchise was started. McCarthy's One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning was the first franchise under the One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning operation. In 2007, they added Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to the team and Mister Sparky Electrical in 2008 to expand the services they offer to their customers and be a whole home service provider. All three franchises are run under the same roof and with the same integrity.

The One Hour franchise allowed us to focus on 'On Time' services. "Always On Time...Or You Don’t Pay A Dime," "The Punctual Plumber," and "America's On Time Electrician" came from this focus and making sure that our technicians understand that our customers time is valuable. The goal was to be a timely company that customers could trust.

McCarthy's Heating & Air Conditioning has come a long way, from being a "one man business" to having three great companies functioning together to help customers with their home utility service needs.
